Fire in Saudi building kills 11 people

A fire in a residential building in the Saudi Arabian city of Najran left 11 people dead and six other injured.

The blaze broke out in a three-storey house early on Wednesday morning, according to local reports.

The civil defence rushed to the site after receiving a call at 4am on Wednesday.

Officials said the house had no openings or windows, causing suffocation and smoke inhalation.

The residents of the house were Indian and Bengali nationals.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause behind the fire.
