Home GCC Kuwait Kuwait Science Club confirms first day of Eid Al Adha Public and private sector workers will be granted leave to celebrate Eid al Adha by Staff Writer August 20, 2017 The first day of Eid Al Adha will be Friday, September 1, according to the Astronomy Department at Kuwait Science Club. The organisation confirmed the date in a brief statement to news agency KUNA. Public sector workers are expected to receive several days off to mark the Eid holiday across the Gulf Cooperation Council. Those in the private sector will likely be granted one or two extra days off after the weekend beginning Friday, September 1. Last week, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Civil Service confirmed an extended break for public sector workers to mark the Eid period. Before he could commit the act, God sent an angel to replace the sacrifice with a sheep. During Eid, Muslims sacrifice an animal in commemoration of this act and divide it into three parts.
