The UAE’s bars and restaurants will have a dry night next week as the country marks its second public holiday of the year, Isra’a Wal Miraj.

An official communication issued by the Department of Tourism and Commerce has confirmed that no alcohol will be served from 6:00pm on Friday, April 13 until 7:00pm on Saturday, April 14, according to What’s On.

It has yet to be confirmed whether workers in the country will receive a day off to mark the Islamic holiday.

Last year, Isra’a Wal Miraj fell on Saturday, April 22.

Both public and private sector workers got the next day off under the country’s federal law, which allows public holidays to be moved to the beginning or end of the week.
