Home Transport Aviation Air Arabia Launches Services to Iraq’s Basra The low-cost carrier will fly three times a week between Sharjah and Basra. by Dominic Ellis December 6, 2012 Air Arabia has started three-times weekly services between Sharjah and Basra. Flights depart from Sharjah International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 0820 and arrive in Basra International Airport at 0915, with return flights departing Basra at 0955 and arriving in Sharjah at 1240 (local time). It marks the low-cost airline’s third destination in Iraq, after Najaf and Erbil. Basra, the second largest city in Iraq after Baghdad, continues to attract plenty of Gulf airline capacity, given its large petroleum resources and gateway status – its port is set for a $14 million upgrade. In a separate move, Air Arabia has increased its Sharjah-Peshawar and Sharjah-Karachi flights to daily services. 0 Comments
