Home Transport Aviation Dubai’s Emirates to resume passenger services to three more cities The carrier’s passenger network will grow to 74 destinations by September 1 by Zainab Mansoor August 12, 2020 Dubai carrier Emirates will resume services to three more cities, growing its passenger network to 74 destinations, it announced on August 12. The three destinations include Birmingham (September 1), Cebu (August 20), and Houston (August 23). Flights between Dubai and Birmingham will operate four times a week, while flights between Dubai and Cebu will operate twice a week, utilising an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Emirates’ flights between Dubai and Houston will operate thrice a week, using an Emirates Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The airline – which operates to five cities in the US, namely New York JFK, Washington DC, Boston (August 15), Chicago and Los Angeles – will further expand its US network to six cities, offering 27 weekly flights to the country. Customers can either book flights on the carrier’s website or via travel agents. As part of the Covid-19 precautionary measures, Covid-19 PCR tests are mandatory for all inbound and transit passengers arriving to Dubai (and the UAE), including UAE citizens, residents and tourists, irrespective of the country they are coming from. In July, the airline said that it had processed nearly 650,000 refund requests in the past two months, returning over Dhs1.9bn to its customers due to several cancellations as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
