Home Industry Technology La Perle picks Epson for laser projection at its Dubai Al Habtoor City shows La Perle will save on some of the $300,000 it was spending on lamp changes annually by David Ndichu September 21, 2020 La Perle, the permanent, aqua-based live show located at Al Habtoor City in Dubai, has selected Epson for laser projections at its shows, as the Emirate reopens for tourism. The show, which runs in a purpose-built theatre in Al Habtoor City, hosts 10 shows per week and 425 shows per year to hundreds of guests for each performance. The auditorium counts 1,288 seats, with performances spanning across 270-degree. Complimenting the artistic performances and special effects of the show are immersive projections. The previous lamp-based projectors were costly in terms of lamp replacement and maintenance costs. Every year, La Perle was spending $300,000 on lamp changes alone — this is in addition to the high costs of maintenance and manpower. The projectors come with a 5-year or 20,000-hour warranty. On top of this, the in-built self-recalibration feature means that these projectors do not need to be regularly dismounted for calibration. “The main reason we selected the high-quality Epson projectors is that they allow us to transform the theatre into any type of space we want,” said Jeff Brown, general manager, La Perle.
