Abu Dhabi denies reports of changes to rules surrounding entry into the emirate

The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for the Covid-19 pandemic said on Tuesday morning that the rules for entry to the Abu Dhabi remain unchanged.

“The Committee confirms no changes made to procedures to enter the emirate of Abu Dhabi and urges the public to rely on Abu Dhabi’s official sources of information,” it said via a tweet carried by the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The current rules stipulate that entry is permitted within 48 hours of receiving a negative Covid-19 PCR test or a negative laser DPI test to screen for the virus.

All visitors and residents entering Abu Dhabi and staying there for six consecutive days, or more, must undergo a PCR test on the sixth day of their visit.

The officials have added that those who do not take a test on day six of their stay will be liable to fines and legal proceedings.

Volunteers of the Covid-19 vaccine trials though are exempted from these directives and can use emergency vehicle lanes to enter the emirate.
