All students in Sharjah private schools and nurseries will commence 100 per cent e-learning from February 14 until February 28, as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The directive was issued by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and Sharjah Emergency Crisis & Disaster Management Team, the announcement of which was confirmed via a tweet by the SPEA.
Sharjah has become the second emirate in the UAE to shift students in all private schools to remote learning.

On Monday, the UAE’s Ministry of Education and the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster management team in Ajman suspended in-classroom learning across all schools and nurseries in the emirate indefinitely.
On Thursday, the UAE reported 3,525 new Covid-19 cases. The country’s health ministry also reported 18 deaths during the past 24 hours, the highest daily rise in fatalities since the virus broke out in the country last year.
