Home Transport Aviation Flydubai to launch flights to Romania’s Cluj-Napoka from March With the start of flights to Cluj-Napoka, the carrier will serve the Romanian market with a total of 16 weekly flights by Aarti Nagraj February 25, 2021 Dubai-based carrier flydubai had announced plans to launch flights to Cluj-Napoka, the second largest city in Romania, starting next month. The airline will operate twice-weekly flights between Dubai International (DXB) and Avram Iancu International Airport Cluj (CLJ) starting from March 20, 2021. Flight FZ 1219 will depart from DXB at 10.15am and land in CLJ at 1.55pm. The return flights FZ 1220 will leave from the Romanian city at 2.45pm and arrive in Dubai at 10pm. Return business class fares from DXB to CLJ start from Dhs8,000 and economy class fares from Dhs1,100. Emirates will codeshare on the route, offering travellers more connections through Dubai to 155 combined destinations served by both the airlines. Flydubai already operates a double daily service between Dubai International and Romanian capital Bucharest. With the start of flights to Cluj-Napoka in March, the carrier will serve the Romanian market with a total of 16 weekly flights. Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO at flydubai, said: “We first started operating to Bucharest with four flights a week in 2012. Since then, flydubai has more than tripled its operations to the market as demand has grown for commercial and cargo traffic between Romania and the UAE. “We look forward to further stimulating travel and trade flows in both directions.” Passengers are required to make sure that they are up to date with the regulations from the IATA Travel Centre for their whole journey. Flydubai’s passenger experience has been redesigned to minimise crew and passenger contact to ensure safety. The airline has recently introduced an extended multi-risk travel insurance that includes Covid-19 cover for passengers.
