Abu Dhabi updates green list of destinations which do not require quarantine

Abu Dhabi has once again amended its ‘green list’ of destinations, with Kazakhstan now removed from the list of countries.

Passengers arriving from the green list destinations are exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi and will only be required to undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi Airport.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) said that the new list, which includes 12 destinations, will be in effect from March 22.

The previous update was released on March 8.

Kazakhstan, which was added in the previous update, announced on Friday that it has discovered a probable Covid-19 mutation in Almaty.

The country’s health ministry said it will need to carry out full genome sequencing tests to determine whether the infections were caused by the British, South African or Brazilian variants.

Countries, regions, and territories included within the ‘green list’ will be regularly updated based on international development, DCT Abu Dhabi said.

“Inclusion in the list is subject to strict criteria of health and safety to ensure the well-being of the UAE community. The list also only applies to countries passengers are arriving from rather than citizenship,” it clarified.

DCT Abu Dhabi will continue to issue updates on the list and overall travel status in the coming months.
