Home UAE Abu Dhabi Etihad introduces home check-in packages for customers in Abu Dhabi Passengers can also book their Covid-19 PCR tests through the airline’s medical partner, LifeDx, as part of the home check-in package by Gulf Business May 10, 2021 UAE national carrier, Etihad Airways, has partnered with DUBZ powered by dnata, to offer its passengers in Abu Dhabi the facility to check in their bags, pick their seat and collect their boarding pass and luggage tags, all from their home. Passengers can also book their Covid-19 PCR tests through the airline’s medical partner, LifeDx, as part of the home check-in package. A certified nurse from LifeDx will conduct the test and results will be received by email and SMS between 24 to 48 hours. To book the home check-in package, guests need to visit the airline’s website a minimum of up to seven hours before their flight. Check in agents will arrive at the location booked at the chosen time between 8am and 8pm. The agent will check the passenger’s travel documents, complete the check-in process and collect their bags. Seat selection can also be made at the same time and extra baggage allowance can be purchased too, if required. Guests who want to board their flight early and receive their luggage first can add Priority Boarding and Priority Bag Tags for an additional fee. Once these passengers arrive at Abu Dhabi International Airport, all non-transit passengers that used the home check-in service can skip the check-in queues at the airport and instead proceed straight to immigration. “Especially during the Covid pandemic, the home check-in service also limits human interaction at the airport as guests are able to head straight to immigration and avoid long lines at the airport,” said John Wright, vice president global airport, network and cargo operations at Etihad Airways. The passengers can finally collect their luggage directly at the baggage belt at their destination. Home check-in packages start from Dhs220 which includes up to four bags, irrespective of the number of guests travelling. Additional baggage allowance can be added for Dhs40 per piece. Bag disinfection services can also be purchased separately.
