The UAE is amending some procedures related to the ‘green pass protocol’ announcement made earlier this week, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) said on Tuesday.

The country had announced that all employees and the public will require to show a green pass on their Al Hosn app to access federal government offices across the country from Monday, January 3.

In a circular issued Tuesday to all ministries and federal entities, FAHR said there were some amendments to the regulation.

FAHR urged all authorities to abide by the procedures mentioned in the circular and make sure that entry to their departments is confined to individuals who have received two doses of UAE-approved Covid-19 vaccines and booster shots and to show a negative PCR test every 14 days to maintain the green status on Al Hosn app.

Meanwhile, those with vaccination exemption will be allowed entry provided their green status is active on Al Hosn app, which will require taking a PCR test every seven days.

Children aged under 16 will not be required to undergo a PCR test.

Individuals who are not vaccinated and those with the grey status on the Al Hosn app will not be allowed entry to federal government entities, according to the circular.

FAHR also urged federal government employees to avail of the free PCR test service provided by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, through the Shefaa application.

The new measure is aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19, even as the UAE has seen a spike in the number of cases in the past week.
