Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo received a warm welcome from his Saudi fans at his official unveiling as a player for Al Nassr Club, at the 25,000-capacity Mrsool Park in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward has a two-and-a-half-year contract to play for the Saudi Pro League club.

The player, who attended a press conference with coach Rudi José Garcia of Al Nassr Club to mark the unveiling ceremony, expressed his satisfaction with signing for Al Nassr club, appreciating the reception accorded to him and his family upon their arrival in Saudi Arabia, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the press conference, Ronaldo said he looked forward to the challenge and contributing to the development of Saudi football. “I’m so proud to make this big decision in my life. In Europe, my work is done. I won everything and played for the most important clubs in Europe. For me, this is a new challenge.”

 

French coach Rudi José Garcia of Al Nassr Club expressed his happiness at training Cristiano Ronaldo, stressing that he and his fellow players will contribute to a more than wonderful performance, based on the player’s experience.

President of Al Nassr Club, Musli Al Muammar, welcomed the “best player in the world”, and emphasised that Ronaldo’s achievements and capabilities qualified him to receive the highest salary for a football player, stressing at the same time that the player stipulated, before signing the contract, the same treatment that applies to the rest of his fellow players, reported SPA.

The soccer star also took photos with his fellow players and delivered a speech to Al Nassr fans at the packed stadium.
