The route will be operated using its Airbus A350-900 fitted with 324 seats including 34 in business, 24 in premium economy and 266 in economy. AF638 will depart Paris at 9.15pm and land in Abu Dhabi at 6.45am the following day. AF639 will then take off from Abu Dhabi at 8.45am and arrive back in Paris at 1.15pm. Air France noted that the flight times were subject to change and pending necessary governmental approvals. The French carrier added that this winter, in addition to Abu Dhabi, it would also be flying to other Middle East destinations including Beirut, Dubai, Cairo and Tel Aviv, with up to 49 weekly flights. In June, the carrier unveiled its latest business class seats at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg. Designed by STELIA aerospace exclusively for Air France, the new long-haul business class seat will feature the OPERA widebody design. It will debut on the carrier’s 21 new A350 aircraft. One upgrade with this product on the new A350s will be a significantly wider IFE screen at 20 inches, which is the largest in any business cabin throughout the Air France fleet. Cabins will also be wifi enabled and feature a wireless charging port at each seat. In a bid to enhance customer service Air France also launched a new WhatsApp customer service channel at the start of this year, with the aim of providing “a more direct relationship with its customers”. The service is available 24/7, with instant answers to common questions given by the Louis chatbot, and contact with an Air France representative for “more specific answers”.
