Emirates and Philippine Airlines strengthen interline partnership

Emirates and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have expanded their interline agreement which they commenced earlier this year.

In March, the two carriers agreed an interline partnership wherein Emirates passengers were granted access to 19 Philippine domestic destinations operated by PAL, including Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Cotabato, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo, among others, as well as two Asian regional points via Manila.

Now, as part of an expanded interline agreement, Emirates passengers can access domestic points in PAL’s network via Cebu and Clark too.

Covering all three gateways in the Philippines served by Emirates – Manila, Cebu and Clark – Emirates said that this partnership expansion allows passengers to reach even more destinations in the Philippines using a single ticket and convenient baggage policy. The arrangement allows for passengers to obtain their boarding passes and check through their baggage all the way to their final destination.

Emirates passengers can now travel to destinations in PAL’s network including Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan De Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Caticlan and Puerto Princesa via Cebu; as well as Cebu, Caticlan and Busuanga via Clark.

PAL passengers on the other hand can also benefit from the enhanced interline agreement and book Emirates-operated flights to Amman, Birmingham, Cape Town, Dammam, Dublin, Lisbon, Manchester, Muscat, and Riyadh via Dubai.

Philippine Airlines was the first commercial airline in Asia and celebrated its 82nd anniversary in March this year. The Philippine national carrier operates daily flights between Manila and Dubai, enabling connections to cities in Europe, Africa, and other parts of the Middle East. The airline flies to 32 destinations in the Philippines and 37 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.

Emirates has been flying to the Philippines since 1990 and currently operates 25 weekly flights to Manila, Cebu and Clark. It flies its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class and two-class configuration to the Asian country and is the only carrier to offer a first class product on flights to Manila.
