Approximately three weeks from now, Apple is expected to unveil its upcoming iPhone 15 lineup, with shipments commencing about four weeks later.

However, there is a potential setback for the top-tier iPhone model, resulting in a delay until October.

iPhone 15 Pro Max delay

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max is distinguished as the pioneer smartphone to incorporate a periscope camera system. Yet, this innovative feature’s debut could be compromised due to Sony’s purported difficulty in meeting the demand for these specialised sensors on time.

Sony, a key supplier of camera components, is reportedly unable to deliver the required image sensor for the iPhone 15 Pro Max in time.

In contrast, its smaller counterpart, the iPhone 15 Pro, will not benefit from this enhancement. While the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will include ultra-wide and wide-angle cameras, they will not feature telephoto lenses.

Launch of iPhone 15 series

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series on September 12, according to reports. Following this, pre-orders will likely begin on September 15, followed by deliveries on September 22.

However, according to an analyst’s observations, the potential delay of three to four weeks could push the availability of the iPhone 15 Pro Max between October 6 – 13.

Historically, Apple has faced production-related challenges.

The iPhone XR’s launch was postponed compared to the XS series due to component shipment delays to Pegatron.

Similarly, the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max experienced similar delays as they lagged behind the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, reportedly due to delays in the delivery of the screens. OLED manufacturers LG and BOE had difficulty meeting the demand on time.
