Emirates NBD launches SustainTech Accelerator Program ahead of COP28

Emirates NBD has launched a sustainability themed accelerator programme, and is inviting global green fintechs to co-create innovative sustainability-focused financing solutions and processes.

The SustainTech Accelerator Program is supported by Microsoft and aims to enable the focused advancement of their sustainability plans.

The accelerator programme, which will accept applications from September 6 to October 10, will support tech startups developing solutions and tools that could help Emirates NBD “boost its suitability performance through: access to accurate, reliable, standardized and consistent data, reliable indicators to quantify contributions and track progress to sustainable development, advanced risk management tools, solutions that can support the transition of legacy systems and products towards sustainability, tools to navigate the complex regulatory landscape and independent verification and certification services to enhance the credibility and integrity of sustainability claims”, the bank said in a statement.

Selected fintechs will be invited to present their solutions, covering four key opportunity areas

1.  Advancing sustainability in finance with comprehensive emission tracking across all three scopes

2. Climate risk modelling for enhanced financial resilience

3.  Innovative carbon trading for banks

4. Advancing ESG risk assessment solutions: Pioneering sustainable business practices

Emirates NBD is aligned with COP28 and UAE’s sustainability targets
