Oman’s National Day holiday 2023: Public, private sector gets 4-day weekend

Oman will mark its 53rd National Day on November 18, 2023.

The day is commemorated to celebrate the country’s independence from Portuguese control.

The government has announced November 22 and 23 as the official holiday for public and private sector employees, according to a report by Oman News Agency.

As Oman observes a Sunday to Thursday work week, the official holiday dates of November 22, 23 which fall on a Wednesday and Thursday respectively, will give employees and students a four-day long weekend.

Oman to mark National Day with muted celebrations

To mark Oman’s National Day, the country’s military will conduct a parade, at the Adam Air Base in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliya.

The General Secretariat for National Celebrations has announced that the 53rd National Day celebrations will be limited to a military parade and the raising the flags of the Sultanate of Oman.

The celebrations have been curtailed this year owing to the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis.
