Home Insights Features Top 10 Cities With The World’s Most Expensive High-Rise Office Spaces Hong Kong has the priciest commercial upper-storey floor space in the world, according to a new index from Knight Frank. by Aarti Nagraj March 12, 2014 The prime capital value of commercial skyscraper space in Dubai is estimated at $6,896 per sqm, the highest in the Middle East, according to Knight Frank’s new Skyscraper Index, which measures the most expensive high-rise office spaces in the world. However, the emirate ranks 16th on the index, much below other Asian, European and American cities. Asian towers dominate the index, with Hong Kong, which has the largest number of skyscrapers in the world, topping the list. “Skyscrapers continue to capture our imagination. New buildings dominate newspaper headlines, and those with viewing galleries become popular tourist attractions,” said James Roberts, head of Commercial Research at Knight Frank. “While Hong Kong and Tokyo are too far ahead to lose first and second place, I see some competition amongst Manhattan, London and Singapore in the coming year,” he added. The only other Middle Eastern city to feature in the index was Abu Dhabi in the 18th position, with high-rise office space costing roughly $6,251 per sqm in the UAE capital.
