Emaar Reshuffles Board

The Dubai-based property developer retained four of its current eight board members and added seven new members.

Dubai developer Emaar Properties has reshuffled its board and will now have 11 members instead of eight, according to statement posted by the firm on the Dubai bourse.

Since the current term of the company’s board of directors will expire at its annual general meeting scheduled in April, Dubai’s crown prince, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum nominated the new members.

While four of the current board members including Mohamed Ali Alabbar,Hussain Al Qemzi, Ahmed Jamal Jawa and Ahmad Thani Al Matrooshi will continue, four of the current members have not been nominated. They include Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Khalifa Hassan Aldaboos and Saeed Al Tayer. Three of the removed four were appointed to Emaar’s Audit and Internal Control Committee in March 2010, according to the company website.

The new members who have been nominated include Abdullah Mohamed Al Marri, Jamal Majed Bin Thaniah, Arif Obeid Saeed Al Duhail, Abdul Rahman Hareb Rashed Al Hareb, Fadel Abdul Baki Al Ali, Marwan Iqbal Mohamed Abdullah Abdeen and Abdulla Saeed Belyoahah.
