Etihad Airways Says Abu Dhabi Airport Resumes Operations

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways said operations at Abu Dhabi airport resumed on Monday after an early morning closure due to severe fog.

After a two-hour closure, all diverted flights have proceeded to Abu Dhabi and delayed outbound flights have begun departing, a statement by the airline said.

However, Etihad expects further delays throughout the day as aircraft are repositioned and flights are rescheduled.

Sixteen inbound flights to Abu Dhabi were diverted on Monday morning to other, nearby airports such as Dubai World Central, Sharjah and Al Ain, as well as to Muscat and Bahrain.
