The new hub hopes to support the United Arab Emirates’ plans to move towards smart governance and technology. Located in Dubai Internet City, the digital acceleration centre will showcase software and hardware technologies related to advanced analytics, wearable technology, network systems, robotics and the internet of things, a statement said. It will also host tailored sessions for Accenture’s clients during which specialists will help them develop customised solutions such as enhanced user experience, omni-channel delivery, connected products, data management and monetisation. “With the pace of technological change increasing faster than ever, organisations need to create a competitive advantage by becoming more agile, adaptive and aligned through digital technologies,” said regional managing director for Accenture in the Middle East and North Africa Omar Boulos. “The digital acceleration center in Dubai is a one-of-a-kind ‘think-and-act tank’ equipped to support our clients and expedite their complete digital transformation journey.” Some of the main focus areas for the centre will include connected workforce, connected health and connected fashion – which enables users to control the design of specially made fashion garments via an application on their mobile device. The centre will also focus on attracting and nurturing local talent and launch initiatives such as hackathons, innovation programmes and internships.
