The airline will operate an Airbus A320 aircraft on the route from July 2 to August 31, it said in a statement. Flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 2.15pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving in Alexandria at 4pm. Return flights will depart Alexandria at 4.50pm, arriving back in Abu Dhabi at 10.40pm. Robin Kamark, chief commercial officer, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “Alexandria is one of the most popular holiday destinations for UAE residents, and our new seasonal flights are timed to provide access for tourists during the peak summer period. “They will also be a convenient option for many of the Egyptian nationals living in the UAE and planning to return home during the holiday season.” With the addition of the seasonal services, Etihad will operate a total of 32 flights per week to Egypt – 28 flights to Cairo and four to Alexandria. Alexandria has seen a steady growth in tourism, recording a 10 per cent rise in occupancy and 27 per cent increase in average daily rate during the first quarter of this year, according to a report by Colliers. 0 Comments
