Abu Dhabi-Based Falcon Aviation Begins Work On $80m VIP Completion Centre

Abu Dhabi-based VIP jet and helicopter service provider Falcon Aviation has announced progress on the Middle East’s first VIP completion centre, located at Dubai World Central (DWC).

The $80 million centre, scheduled for completion by 2015, will be spread across 13,705 square metres, providing customised services to VIP customers and a hangar equipped to accommodate even an Airbus A380.

In addition, the centre will offer VIP lounges, workshops, offices, and an in-house design studio for its elite clientele.

“With the boom of the aviation industry in the Middle East, the opening of such facilities puts the region at the leading edge of aerospace technology,” said Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, chairman, Falcon Aviation.

“Falcon Aviation not only fills a niche in the VIP completion market, providing an exclusive service to aircraft owners and operators in the Middle East, it brings the UAE closer to becoming the global trade hub of the world.”

The Abu Dhabi-based company is partnering with international firms including Bombardier, Integrated Aerospace Alliance, CDG and Rockwell Collins for the development of the centre.

“Rising competition in the industry and ever-tightening budgets have resulted in a shift in the way aircraft owners and operators are doing business,” said Sheikh Sultan.

“This is a complex business and we have paid careful attention to assess the needs of our customers.”

UAE-based contractor Al Shafar National Contracting has been appointed the main builder and contractor of the project.

Falcon Aviation Services is based at Al Bateen Executive Airport and operates a fleet of corporate jets conducting VIP charter flights, as well as a fleet of Bell 412 helicopters serving the offshore oil and gas industry.

The company also conducts search and rescue, aircraft management, maintenance, repair and overhaul, as well as consulting operations.

In line with ongoing fleet expansion, Falcon Aviation recently inked a deal for two CS300 jetliners with Canada’s Bombardier Aerospace.
