Home Industry Real Estate Abu Dhabi’s Aldar awards Dhs30m contract for Mayan project The luxury residential development is located on Yas Island by Aarti Nagraj November 13, 2016 Abu Dhabi real estate developer Aldar Properties has awarded the early works contract for the first phase of its luxury golf and waterfront development – Mayan, it announced on Sunday. The Dhs30m contract was awarded to Abu Dhabi-based Dutch Foundation & Concrete Rehabilitation Company WLL. The deal provides for shoring, piling and earthworks for Mayan’s 512 luxury apartments – which are spread across five buildings. The work will be carried out over a five month period with commencement effective immediately, the statement added. Handover is scheduled to take place in 2018, the company earlier stated. Located in Yas Island, Mayan offers studios, one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments, golf course homes and beach-front villas. The community will also feature multiple swimming pools, children play areas, gymnasiums and retail outlets. The development is also close to other attractions in Yas Island such as Yas Waterworld, Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Marina and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. The project was launched in November last year and in June, Aldar confirmed that over 75 per cent of the first phase of Mayan had been sold out. Read more: Abu Dhabi’s Aldar says 75% of its Mayan project sold out Talal Al Dhiyebi, chief development officer at Aldar, said: “The enthusiasm for Mayan since its launch last year has been extremely encouraging. “We have witnessed strong demand for luxury residences in prime locations, and Mayan caters to this demand.” Aldar has launched several new projects in Yas Island during recent months. In April, the developer unveiled Yas Acres, a Dhs 6bn project that includes 1,315 villas on the northern shores of Yas Island. The development is a non-gated community with no service charges, and includes facilities such as a mosque that can accommodate 2,000 worshippers; an international school; a retail centre; sports areas and a petrol station. 0 Comments
