Home Industry Real Estate Abu Dhabi’s Aldar to handover 300 villas in West Yas this month The villas were initially expected to be handed over to buyers at the end of 2017 by Aarti Nagraj June 6, 2018 Abu Dhabi developer Aldar Properties will begin the handover of villas in its West Yas community this month, it announced on Wednesday. The handover process will take place in phases throughout the year, with the first phase including 300 villas. The units were earlier expected to be handed over to buyers at the end of 2017. Launched in September 2015 at Yas Island, the Dhs3.2bn West Yas development includes 1,014 four and five bedrooms villas, ranging from 488 to 580 sqm. Amenities and facilities include a mosque for 2,000 worshippers, two schools, a retail centre, sports facilities, a petrol station, and landscaping and greenery in its open public spaces. As of the end of the first quarter of this year, 80 per cent of the units – 801 villas – were sold, with a sales value of Dhs3.66bn. Prices for the units now begin from Dhs4.8m. Since it is a non-gated community, villa owners will not be required to pay service fees, according to Aldar. As part of the handover process, client inspections, snagging and disinfecting of villas is underway, and the garden plots will feature sweet soil instead of sand. Aldar is also offering customers smart technology options such as smart lighting and thermostats, smart locks, fire alarm systems, security cameras, smart door and window sensors, motion sensors and smart home assistants, it said.
