Home Covid-19 Air Arabia announces free global Covid-19 cover for all passengers The cover includes medical expenses and quarantine costs and is valid for 31 days by Aarti Nagraj October 6, 2020 UAE-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia has announced free global Covid-19 cover for all passengers travelling on its flights departing from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The cover, which includes medical expenses and quarantine costs, is automatically included with the booking with no additional documents required, a statement said. It did not disclose the maximum amount that can be claimed. The cover is valid for 31 days from the day of departure on the itinerary. Impacted passengers who are diagnosed with the virus during their travel can contact the 24/7 Air Arabia Covid-19 global assistance cover team. All the other UAE airlines have already announced similar packages. In July, Dubai’s flagship carrier Emirates announced that it would offer Covid-19 related cover to passengers, allowing customers to claim medical expenses of up to EUR150,000 and quarantine costs of EUR100 per day for 14 days, regardless of the class of travel or destination. The cover, initially in place until October 31, has now been extended to flights undertaken until December 31, 2020, and is valid for 31 days from the moment they fly the first sector of their journey. The service covers passengers’ health expenses and quarantine costs, if diagnosed with the Covid-19 infection during their trip, and is valid for 31 days from the time they take the first flight on their itinerary. All tickets, regardless of the date on which they were booked, will include a free Covid-19 insurance for passengers traveling until December 31, 2020, the airline said. Passengers will be covered for up to EUR150,000 of medical costs and up to EUR100 a day of quarantine costs in case of a positive diagnosis for 14 days. The insurance is valid worldwide for 31 days from the first day of travel.
