CEO Adel Ali gave the operational update on the sidelines of Qatar Airways’ route launch in Sharjah yesterday. “Air Arabia has always been the airline for the northern Emirates and this will cement that vision, we’ll be able to offer more choices at both airports (Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah),” he said. “There’s quite a sizeable business community in Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah – and they have some wonderful hotels and a big tourism focus.” Department of Civil Aviation Ras Al Khaimah signed a strategic partnership with Air Arabia in February, enabling the airline to become the Emirate’s designated carrier operating services from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport following RAK Airways’ closure. Last week Air Arabia started three-times weekly flights to Cairo, the culmination of a lengthy process to access the Egyptian capital. The airline also flies to Alexandria, Assuit and Sohag. “We always wanted to fly to Cairo but we didn’t get traffic rights before. We’ve started with three but hopefully we’ll reach daily by the summer.” 0 Comments
