Chairman Khalaf Al Habtoor held talks with Yann Caillère, Accor’s President & Chief Operating Officer (COO), when he was in Dubai last week to mark the official opening of Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre (click here). “We are always on the look-out for potential partners,” he said. “Accor is a respected brand and has a lot of experience in the European market. The Al Habtoor Group is constantly search for strategic partnerships.” In Dubai, Al Habtoor has already partnered with Starwood at the upcoming Habtoor Palace, which will contain a 241-room St. Regis, 384-room W Dubai, 966-room Westin and new Metropolitan Hotel, although they won’t open until 2017. But there may be opportunities elsewhere in the city, such as the Jewel of the Creek project coming up by the Floating Bridge, developed by Habtoor Leighton group, which will have a mix of four and five-star hotels. Accor plans to open a new Novotel hotel near Sharaf DG Metro station next month, and two more Sofitel hotels are due to open in Dubai this year. Al Habtoor and Starwood’s relationship has also stretched into Europe after the group bought the five-star Le Meridien Budapest last summer. 0 Comments
