Aman Group to open two properties in Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah

Luxury hospitality company, Aman Group, has confirmed that it will open two properties within the US$63.2 billion Diriyah development in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh.

These include Aman Wadi Safar and Janu Diriyah from Aman’s sister brand Janu which is set to open its first property in Tokyo later this year.

Aman Wadi Safar will feature 78 keys, as well as up to 34 fully-serviced Aman branded residences and amenities such as an Aman Spa and several dining experiences.

Denniston Architects (the team behind the recently opened Aman New York) has been appointed to bring Jean-Michel Gathy’s experience in combining Aman’s design language with with the local culture, heritage, and landscape of a destination to the Aman Wadi Safar.

Aman Wadi Safar will reportedly draw inspiration from Diriyah’s rich cultural heritage (it houses the UNESCO site of At-Turaif) and will rely on the mud-brick traditional Najdi architectural style. The resort will be built in the wadis and plateaus of Wadi Safar.

Janu Diriyah meanwhile will be located within close proximity to the UNESCO Heritage Site of At-Turaif. It will comprise of 120 hotel rooms, a Janu Wellness offering and several dining concepts.

Within Saudi Arabia, Aman Group have already confirmed an Aman Hotel and Branded Residences in Hegra, alongside the UNESCO Heritage Site within AlUla.

In an exclusive interview with Business Traveller Middle East recently, Doronin confirmed that the Aman Group’s operational portfolio consists of 34 hotels and resorts worldwide spread across 20 countries. The  pipeline of upcoming future destinations include Aman Nai Lert Bangkok (2024), Amanvari, Los Cabos (2024), Aman Hegra (2025), Aman Miami Beach (2026), Aman Beverly Hills (2026) and Aman Niseko (2026), besides a further number of yet-undisclosed Janu locations.
