Arabtec Launches New Training Arm, Appoints CEO

The Gulf’s largest construction company, Arabtec Holding, has appointed Dr. Abdulrahman Al Hammadi as CEO of its newest subsidiary specialised in the training of Emiratis in the oil and gas and construction sectors.

Al Hammadi was previously head of Emiratisation where he was responsible for bringing UAE talent to the company.

He boasts more than two decades of experience and previously held positions in the education sector, including as associate provost of Central Academic Services at the Higher Colleges of Technology.

“Launching a company dedicated to education, training and certification in the construction sector is a highly strategic decision for Arabtec, as the company continues to make significant leaps in the number and size of projects and is therefore in constant need for the right talents,” said Al Hammadi.

Al Hammadi will be in charge of planning and implementing the foundations for the academic institutes as well as the selection of suitable curriculums.

The news follows Arabtec’s recent showcase of Dhs14 billion of projects at the Cityscape Abu Dhabi real estate exhibition. Two of which are in the emirate of Dubai and three in the capital.

The Abu Dhabi-based projects include the Saraya development, two high-quality luxury towers on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, which will stand at 40 and 46 stories high. The development is due for delivery towards the end of the year.

Arabtec is also currently in discussions with international companies to manage the C13 development on Reem Island. A project consisting of a five-star hotel, residential apartments, retail outlets, and serviced apartments.
