Home Industry Construction Arabtec Unit Wins Dhs1.03bn Emaar Contract In Dubai Under the deal, Arabtec Construction will build over 1,500 townhouses in Emaar’s Reem community. by Aarti Nagraj March 5, 2014 Dubai contractor Arabtec Holding announced that its subsidiary, Arabtec Construction, has won a Dhs1.037 billion contract from Emaar Properties. Under the deal, Arabtec will construct 1,582 townhouses in the Mira community, the first phase of Emaar’s master development Reem. The villas, in four different types, cover a total built area of 337,805 sq.m. The villa community is designed by BH.NS Engineering Consultant, Arabtec said in a statement. Construction work is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2014 and the project will be delivered in 24 months, it added. Located near Arabian Ranches, Reem, launched by Emaar last year, includes several residential communities to be unveiled in phases. It will also feature a desert botanical park, sand surfing and camel riding trails, go karting track, dune buggies, rock climbing wall, cricket pitch, soccer field, and a skate park. Hasan Abdullah Ismaik, managing director and CEO of Arabtec Holding, said: “This project adds further momentum to an already strong start of the year.” Arabtec Holding has already won a slew of new contracts this year. Last month, its subsidiary Emirates Falcon Electromechanical Company (EFECO) bagged a Dhs1 billion contract to carry out the mechanical, electrical and plumbing work at the Abu Dhabi Plaza development in the Kazakh capital Astana. Earlier this year, a joint venture including EFECO, BK Gulf and China State Construction also won a Dhs878 million contract for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work at the Abu Dhabi airport extension. 0 Comments
