Bahrain’s Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) announced on Saturday, January 9, expats can now apply for the issuing of self-sponsored residence permits through its website www.evisa.gov.bh.

The online service covers foreign retirees, investors and property owner in Bahrain.

The validity of the residency permit varies from either two, five or ten years

In a statement carried by the state news channel, Bahrain News Agency, it said that the launching of the online service was part of the Interior Minister’s directives “to expand e-services and the directorate’s approach to gradually transfer services to the website to facilitate the applying process without the need for personal attendance.”

The decision is also seen as one to promote investment within the country as part of the kingdom’s Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

The NPRA added a full list of the documents required are noted on the website itself and can also be obtained by emailing [email protected]
