The move follows the directives of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and is also based on the recommendations of the national medical taskforce following an increase in the number of infections, Bahrain News Agency said. There are no changes to the opening of private schools, the education ministry confirmed. On September 6, Bahrain reported that it had detected 644 new Covid-19 cases, taking the overall number of cases identified in the country up to 55,415.
