Glenn de Souza, vice president international operations, Asia & Middle East, said it was close to securing two deals previously in the city centre but walked away from them after concerns regarding quality standards – but this time around it is more hopeful. “We have a couple of options which hopefully we can finalise in the next couple of weeks,” he said. “I would say the opening should be in around eight months.” The Middle East is a key region for expansion for Best Western, which last year opened its first hotels in Oman, Jordan and KSA, and it is expected to debut in Iraq in 2014. Currently the operator has eight properties in the region, and has a further 16 in the pipeline. Across the world the Phoenix-based chain is among the largest, operating more than 4,000 hotels. 0 Comments
