British Airways Upgrading Jeddah Route To Boeing 777

British Airways is upgrading its Jeddah route to a four-class Boeing 777 aircraft from March 31.

Saudi travellers will be able to experience first class (14 suites) and latest Club World cabin (48 business class seats), and overall there will be more than 250 seats available to and from London Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Travellers will also have the choice of flying Premium Economy (40 seats) and World Traveller economy (124 seats).

British Airways’ new first class seats offer 60 per cent more width and personal window blinds, along with increased privacy and a personal wardrobe. In Club World, the flatbed seats are designed so customers can work or relax as they choose with power ports and the latest on demand entertainment. The route is currently served by a three-class Boeing 767 aircraft.

Last week British Airways started its first A380 flights to Los Angeles. It will initially operate as a five-times weekly service, but will increase to double-daily from April 10 next year.

BA has next rostered the superjumbo onto its Hong Kong route, where it will fly daily from October 22, and from February 2014, an A380 will be deployed between London Heathrow and Johannesburg.
