The event will showcase the latest collections from the region’s most established designers at The Annex – L11 of the world’s tallest tower on March 24 and 25. It will feature six catwalk shows, two talks by international fashion experts, a fashion gallery and pop-up boutiques from regional accessory designers. The event, supported by Dubai Design and Fashion Council, will also see stand-alone fashion presentations from two emerging regional designers. Designers from across the Middle East and North Africa region have been selected by a special committee to be part of Dubai Collections, Burj Khalifa developer Emaar said. Senior director of operations for At the Top, Burj Khalifa Zeina Dagher said: “Dubai Collections will be a compelling showcase of the newest trends in the fashion industry in the region, while also celebrating the emerging new talents. “By hosting the event at Burj Khalifa, we are underlining the rising status of Dubai as a fashion capital and the support that we extend to promoting the fashion talent and the industry.” Emaar also recently launched Design 971, a pop-up boutique located in The Village at The Dubai Mall, to showcase the work of emerging young local design talent. The new initiatives are part of Dubai’s ambition to emerge as a global design and fashion hub by 2020. The plan is expected to boost the emirate’s economy and “have a significant impact on employment” across the value chain on sectors such as manufacturing, retail and design, according to officials. 0 Comments
