Contractor appointed for Address Residences project in Dubai Marina

The main construction contract for Address Residences Jumeirah Resort and Spa, a 77-storey twin tower project in Dubai Marina, has been awarded, it was announced on Wednesday.

The contract was awarded to Multiplex Constructions, a statement said. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Launched in 2016 by Emaar Hospitality, Address Residences Jumeirah Resort + Spa is now owned by Al Ain Properties, the statement said. It is not clear whether Emaar is still directly associated with the project.

With a built-up area of 257,000 sqm, The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort and Spa is located in the last available land plot for development on Jumeirah Beach Walk.

Essentially a single tower, it is designed in a split formation with a distinctive ‘space’ carved out in the centre.

The project has three key components: The Address Jumeirah Resort + Spa with 217 rooms and suites; The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort + Spa comprising serviced and furnished apartments; and ‘The Residences Jumeirah Dubai Managed by The Address’ – unfurnished residential apartments.

The project will also offer Address Spa facilities, high-end food and beverage outlets including a lounge at the top level and a signature Sky Restaurant, as well as retail and other lifestyle and entertainment amenities.

Set to become the tallest structure on the Jumeirah Beach Walk skyline, the project is within walking distance of the Dubai Marina Walk, Jumeirah Beach Walk and The Beach Walk.

Multiplex started mobilisation for the construction of the mixed-use development this month. The project specifications include three basement levels, ground and podium levels, and 77 upper floors inclusive of the roof level.

The development is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020.

“The appointment of Multiplex as the main contractor follows on from the recent completion of the shoring and piling works for the project,” said Mike Fraser, managing director of Mirage Leisure and Development, the development manager.

Khedaim Al Darei, managing director of Al Ain Properties added: “The long-term outlook for real estate in the UAE remains positive and Address Residences Jumeirah Resort + Spa raises the bar in luxury hospitality and residential developments.

“With the commencement of the projects main works, we aim to deliver this project on schedule,” he added.
