Read: New Swiss lab in Abu Dhabi can analyse 80,000 Covid-19 PCR tests per day In the other cases, the cost would be covered under the government-funded programmes (ABM3-ABM5), which cover all Emiratis and their domestic workers, people of determination, pregnant women, residents over 50, people with chronic diseases, people with Covid-19 symptoms and those who mix with infected people. It comes shortly after authorities in the capital emirate confirmed that all Abu Dhabi government employees who are present on-site within their workplaces must undertake regular Covid-19 PCR tests, the cost of which will be borne by themselves. The rule is applicable to everyone irrespective of whether or not they have received the Covid-19 vaccine. Read: Abu Dhabi issues new rules for Covid-19 testing and quarantine of government employees Furthermore, employees of companies operating in certain business categories across the UAE, and who have not taken the Covid-19 vaccine, will be required to undergo a mandatory PCR test every 14 days. It covers sectors such as hotels, restaurants, transportation and health, as well as social and individual activities related to laundries, beauty salons and barbershops. The total number of infections recorded in the country stands at 446,594, which includes 429,573 recoveries and 1,456 deaths.
