Covid-19: UAE registers 63 new cases; Saudi reports fourth death

Saudi Arabia announced its fourth Covid-19 fatality, confirmed as a resident of Riyadh, as well as the detection of 99 new cases in the kingdom.

The Ministry of Health took to social media to confirm that of the newly diagnosed cases, the highest were registered in Riyadh (41).

Among the 99 diagnosed cases, 10 were travel-related while the rest were linked to contact with previously infected patients.

The Covid-19 virus has till now afflicted a total of 1,203 individuals in the kingdom, of whom 37 have fully recovered.

On Thursday, the kingdom also extended its existing curfew in the cities of Riyadh, Makkah and Madinah to begin from 3pm. Currently, the curfew runs from 7pm until 6am across all of Saudi Arabia.

The UAE announced 63 new cases of the Covid-19 virus on Saturday, March 28. 

The total number of diagnosed cases in the country has now reached 468, the UAE government tweeted, citing the health spokesperson.

Oman
As many as 21 new cases have been detected in the sultanate, taking the total number of those infected to 152, Oman News Agency tweeted, citing the Ministry of Health.

Of the new cases, eight were related to contact with previous patients, and eight were related to travel, while five were subject to epidemiological investigation, the ministry confirmed.
