The last time the country recorded less than 1,000 new cases was on December 27, when 944 infections were reported. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that the new cases were detected after it conducted 325,118 additional Covid-19 tests over the past 24 hours. The total number of recorded cases in the UAE has now reached 711,428. The health ministry also announced two deaths due to Covid-19-related complications. The death toll has risen to 2,026.
