Dettol pledges $1m to support frontliners in Saudi Arabia

Dettol and its Saudi distributor Arabian Trading Supplies (ATS) have collaborated with the Health Endowment Fund to offer $1m in products to support frontline health workers in the kingdom, it announced on April 29.

The Health Endowment Fund, the strategic partner of the Ministry of Health, aims to underpin the Saudi government’s efforts in tackling the impacts of Covid-19.

Dettol’s commitment will come in the form of half a million hygiene and cleaning products that will be used to support the frontline health workers throughout the country in the fight against the pandemic.

Abdel Hamid El Safadi, general manager – RB Health division in Saudi Arabia, said: “We are delighted to partner with the Health Endowment Fund in Saudi Arabia and work together in helping flatten the curve in the kingdom by providing frontline health workers with some of our key products during this crucial time.

“Dettol was first invented for midwives over 86 years ago in the UK, so we have always played a key role in protecting the protectors and we look forward to further adding to the strong support the kingdom has in place for key workers.”

Dettol’s initiative is aligned with, and part of the pledges made by its holding company Reckitt Benckiser with its RB Fight for Access Fund to combat the virus.

Since the outbreak, Saudi Arabia has reported a total of 20,077 Covid-19 cases and 152 deaths.
