Home UAE Dubai DEWA Innovation Centre launches second CleanTech Youth Programme The programme targets young leaders from various fields to develop their knowledge and expertise in the field of clean and renewable energy by Zubina Ahmed August 5, 2022 The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Innovation Center has launched the second batch of the ‘Clean Energy Youth Programme’, also known as the CleanTech Youth Programme. The programme targets talents and young energy leaders from various fields to develop their knowledge and expertise in the field of clean and renewable energy and deepen their knowledge of entrepreneurship. CleanTech includes a variety of training workshops, innovative educational sessions and field visits, with the participation of a group of academics, experts and specialists from many institutions, universities, start-ups, local and international institutions. .@DEWAOfficial’s Innovation Centre launches the 2nd batch of the Cleantech Youth Programme. The second batch of the programme attracted 25 graduates or those studying at the undergraduate level from 13 accredited academic institutions in the UAE. Walid bin Salman, executive VP of the Business Development and Excellence Sector at DEWA said, “The programme contributes to empowering young people to lead the world towards a sustainable future, in addition to inspiring, educating, honing their experiences and building bridges of communication with them.” Also as part of the activities of the CleanTech programme, the Innovation Centre organised a field visit to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world. In recent news, DEWA announced it has developed several innovations using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the efficiency of operations in Dubai’s water network. The technology is also being used to monitor cyberattacks, leaks, and faults, and isolate and repair them immediately.
