DP World launches internship programme for Emiratis abroad

Dubai ports operator DP World has launched an internship programme for overseas Emirati students.

The Emirati Abroad Programme offers UAE Nationals studying in countries where the company operates the opportunity to gain experience in diverse cultures and learn about global trade, said the Dubai Media Office.

Internships will be offered across DP World’s global portfolio of 78 marine and inland terminals in 40 countries across six continents. They will last between two and three months, and entail an industry orientation, followed by an opportunity to work on live business projects and attend networking events.

Interns will also have the opportunity to be involved in DP World’s sustainability initiatives to give back to the community.

The programme is in line with the UAE Centennial 2071 plan, which aims to make the UAE the best country in the world by 2071 and is based on four aspects: education, economy, government development and community cohesion.

DP World group chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, said: “Our continued investment in the development of our youth will be the foundation of our growth as a company and country and more importantly, this will be our legacy.

The UAE Centennial 2071 plan focusses on education and the development of future generations by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to help them succeed in a fast-developing world.
