Home Uncategorized Dubai ambulance services to be free for patients Under no circumstance will the patient bear any financial liability, according to the new resolution by Staff Writer February 8, 2018 Ambulances in Dubai are set to become free for patients under a new resolution issued by the emirate’s Crown Prince, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The resolution authorises Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) to collect fees from the patient’s insurance company for emergency services. Under no circumstance will the patient bear any financial liability or copay against the services provided and DCAS is obligated to provide ambulance services to patients that do not hold insurance or hold expired insurance, according to Dubai Media Office. A new fee structure has also been approved for health insurance companies. Insurers will pay Dhs600 ($163) for basic ambulance services without an evacuation, Dhs800 ($218) for basic ambulance services with an evacuation, Dhs1,000 ($272) for a level one ambulance service and Dhs1,200 ($327) for a level to ambulance service. In case of a traffic accident Dubai Police and DCAS can collect Dhs6,770 ($1,843) per patient from the default part’s insurance to cover ambulance and medical evacuation fees.
