Home UAE Dubai Dubai committee to promote ‘positive engagement’ with international media Dubai International Communication Committee is intended to highlight the emirate’s achievements by Robert Anderson December 6, 2018 Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the formation of the Dubai International Communication Committee to promote “effective and positive” engagement with international media. The Dubai Media Office body is intended to raise the profile of Dubai and highlight its major achievements and initiatives. “The DICC aims to develop international communication strategies that contribute to Dubai’s effort to enhance cooperation with various international partners and generate more opportunities for global partnerships,” Dubai Media Office said. Sheikh Mohammed, who is also UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, also approved a media briefings programme to keep local, regional and international media updated on Dubai’s development progress and strategic projects. The programme “aims to provide the media with accurate information from the government in addition to reports based on this information”, according to the announcement. Saudi Arabia launched the Centre for International Communication last year with similar goals of strengthening international media relations and promoting a more positive image abroad.
