Home UAE Dubai Dubai expat Juno Srivastava confirmed dead in Sri Lanka bombings He was killed along with his colleague, Lorraine Campbell, at the Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo by Gulf Business April 25, 2019 Dubai-based Indian expatriate Juno Srivastava, 42, has been confirmed dead in the Sri Lanka attacks on Sunday, officials have said. Srivastava was initially reported as missing, but officials from the Consulate General of India in Dubai said on Thursday that he was killed along with his colleague, Lorraine Campbell. British national Campbell, 55, and Srivastava were both working with the Al Futtaim Group. They were last seen having breakfast at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo, close to where a suicide bomber carried out an attack. Consul General of India, Vipul, told Khaleej Times that officials from the Indian High Commission in Colombo have confirmed Srivastava’s death. “His brother (Jugnu) and wife (Rachna) had travelled to Colombo a day after the blasts. They were able to recognise his mortal remains, and he will be repatriated today (Thursday) to India.” On Wednesday, Campbell’s family also confirmed her passing. “It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Campbell wish to inform that she was involved in the bombing of the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and sadly lost her life,” a statement from her family said. “Lorraine, known to most people as Loz, was a woman who embraced life to the full and meant so much to so many people, and there will forever be an enormous void that will never now be filled. “Loz was a wife, mother, sister and aunt, and a close friend to so many people, having risen through the ranks of the IT world, working in cities in the UK and abroad.” The death toll from the suicide attacks – which targeted churches and hotels in the country – has now risen to 359, with hundreds injured. Victims are still being identified. Earlier this week, it was confirmed that two Saudia crew members died in the attacks.
