Home Expo 2020 Dubai Expo 2020 puts out tender for Emirati food products The licensed food products will be sold at outlets across the UAE by Staff Writer February 22, 2017 The organisers of Expo 2020 Dubai today launched a tender for producers of authentic Emirati and regional products including dates, Arabian coffee and sweets, chocolate and spices to welcome visitors to the event. The tender is the second of 40 planned for different licensed product categories following a search for souvenir manufacturers last month. The licensed food products will be sold at outlets across the UAE including expo retail stores opening in 2018 and the expo site itself. “We want to work with producers to create a range of products that authentically reflect our heritage and the multinational diversity of the modern UAE. We have an incredible, vibrant food scene that combines traditional Arabian products like qahwa, dates and spices, with international influences, and we want to share that with Expo 2020 Dubai visitors,” said Najeeb Al-Ali, executive director of Bureau Expo 2020 Dubai. He added that the organisers hoped to support home-grown brands, SMEs and food producers. The bureau previously said it hoped around a third of 70 licencees for retail products would be SMEs.
