Dubai International Boat Show to showcase its biggest yacht ever

The Dubai International Boat Show 2020 is set to host its largest yacht to date at this year’s event in March.

The AMADEA is a 106.1m superyacht built by German shipbuilder Lürssen and will be brought to the region by Monaco-based Imperial which were the build supervisors and will offer up the yacht to prospective buyers during the show.

The asking price for it will only be declared to prospective buyers.

The five-day boat show, from March 10-14, will be held at the new Dubai Harbour marina – managed by Meraas – this year, and will feature more than 800 companies and brands from 44 countries.

With 12.6 per cent of the world’s superyachts (more than 150 vessels over 40m) berthed in the Middle East, the Dubai boat show will again feature its Superyacht Avenue, which will house a range of existing and new-to-market luxury crafts from companies such as Benetti, CRN Yachts, Feadship, Fincantieri, Heesen, Lurssen, Oceanco and Sanlorenzo, as well as Al Rubban Marine, AMIT, Azimut, Cranchi Yachts, Gulf Craft, Ferretti, IMG Boats, Ocean 360, Princess Yachts, Sunreef Yachts and Vikal Boats.

The star of the show is expected to be the AMADEA which will be located at Berth MD-01, and which will also be available for private viewing around the Middle East.

AMADEA is designed by Espen Øino and Francois Zuretti, and has six guest decks that can accommodate up to 22 guests.

For those who want to remain overnight on the yacht, it can accommodate up to 16 guests within its eight luxury en suite cabins.

The exterior area of the yacht includes a ten-metre infinity pool and a D-value helipad that can accommodate large helicopters too.

Built within Amadea, are two bespoke guest tenders hidden inside its full-beam tender garage.

A multipurpose area on the bridge deck can be used as either a cinema or a private conference room.

A grand staircase (or elevator) leads to the lower deck which has a Moroccan-inspired massage room, hammam and sauna.

The Dubai Harbour marina can accommodate yachts up to 160 metres in length – supporting a superyacht industry which is estimated to reach a value of $28-30bn by 2022.
