Home UAE Dubai Dubai Lynx postponed amidst coronavirus concerns The event has been rescheduled from March to September by Aarti Nagraj March 2, 2020 The annual Dubai Lynx media and advertising event has been postponed until September over concerns about the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19, its organisers have announced. The Lynx International Festival of Creativity was scheduled to be held from March 8-11. “In light of recent developments in respect to COVID-19 we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Dubai Lynx Festival. As a festival, our priority is absolutely the safety of our attendees, delegates and team. We are going to reschedule the festival to 6-9 September 2020,” a statement said. “Please note that all entries will be valid for the new festival dates along with passes and awards seats purchased. We will keep you updated with further information.” Lynx is co-owned by UK-based Ascential and Gulf Business‘ parent company Motivate Media Group. Other events globally and regionally have also been cancelled and postponed over fears of the coronavirus, which is continuing to spread across the world. The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was cancelled last month, while the ASEAN meeting as well as global fashion weeks in Beijing and Shanghai – all scheduled for March – have been postponed. Locally, the Dubai International Boat Show, scheduled to be held later this month, has been postponed to November, while the last leg of the UAE Tour cycling competition was cancelled after two members of the Italian technical team tested positive for the virus. Read: Dubai International Boat Show postponed Private schools in Dubai have also been asked to cancel all internal and external events, while the UAE ministry of Education has asked all nurseries to stay closed.
